Welcome to The Rancho. We live on small farm with a whole lot of fun in Western North Carolina. We have dogs, chickens and goats. And who knows what else is in the works!
Our dairy goat breeds include Alpine, Oberhasli and Nigerian Dwarf as well as Miniature Dairy Goats including Miniature Alpines and Miniature Oberhasli.
We are so excited this year to continue expanding the pasture and possibly add a horse or two! We began our 2016 kidding season with two sets of twins. So far, we have 15 kids on the ground and only 3 of them are doelings! This is officially a buck year for us. See the Ranchocabra page for photos and info or the For Sale page for availability.
While we are not currently breeding Rough Coated Dutch Shepherds, we still have our two, belong to the American Dutch Shepherd Association (ADSA) and participate occasionally in rescue efforts with the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue by fostering on occasion. We would love to introduce you to the breed and help answer any questions you might have.
Cheuy was brought in to train with and assist Melinda with her guardian duties down at the barn. He is super loving, very sweet with the goats and has quite a grown up bark for a 5 month old pup! We are so pleased with him so far (and so is Meli!). Thank you to Lindsey Proctor from Hickory Cove Farm in PA for allowing us to bring him home.
Ranchocabra kidding season is in progress! See the goat pages for more information on availability and breeding line ups.
The dog side of the Rancho is called Ranchodutchie. The Dutch Shepherd is a rare breed and we are blessed to have two Rough Coated Dutchies as part of our family.
The dairy goat side of the Rancho is called Ranchocabra. We raise Oberhasli, Alpine and Nigerian Dwarfs. We are learning fun and tasty ways to use the goat's milk including ice cream, cheeses and caramel. What fun!
