  • 2024 Kidding Season is almost here!

This kidding season will be a little different. We are freshening less does and keeping fewer kids in an effort to keep things more manageable for me. We are signed up for milk testing and LA again this year if we can fit the schedule. I am excited about so many of the pairings this year so it’ll be difficult to choose who to keep. Help me!

  • Show Season 2023

We decided with Maggie’s school schedule and the rough start to the year that we’d only go to 2 spring shows this year. We finally made it to the 3rd Annual Pride of the Piedmont Spring Show in May! It was a large show with so many beautiful animals. We were honored to earn a leg for Ranchocabra Santa Fe under Judge Will Keach. “Taffy” is a 2 year old 2nd freshener. Another highlight was Ranchocabra Honi earning her dry leg as a 2 month old!

  • Other Happenings

In December, we lost two oldie members of the herd. Melinda our amazing guardian dog battled with cancer over the past year and it just got to where we couldn’t keep her comfortable any more so we had to let her go. Callie one of our retired Oberhasli does also had cancer. It was in her udder and had spread. Because of this, we could no longer keep her comfortable as well and so also had to let her go. She was quite a character and a very good heat detector in her old age. She was Caleb’s first showmanship goat and our first home bred Oberhasli. She earned a VEEE 90 on appraisal at 6 years old and was our first home bred 90 and first with an E in mammary.
